This is what you are seeing.
There was no official day when the Roman Empire became Italy.
Once the free goodies from the slaves dry up at the central shipping port the vampires must suck their own blood for a change.
The empire collective breaks up into smaller states that are forced to rely on their easily available natural resources.
The fat people get leaner.
Those who lived deliciously usually can’t adapt and die.
Then the empires are open to revenge –spoiled by other empires.
All the hate the CIA created around the world will come home as vengeance on us.
Will anyone come to our aid?
Will they pity miss liberty?
I doubt they would piss on her if she was on fire.
Here are the changes you can expect:
Infrastructure deteriorates.
Manure will become very valuable.
Since no cheap synthetic fertilizer will be imported anymore people will HAVE to go organic.
Before it was called organic it was just called fertilizer.
It will be evaluated by grades:
Horse manure will be at the top.
Cow, sheep, rabbit will be the next lower grade because these animals are ruminant vegetarians and are really good at drawing the nutrients out of their food.
Pig, dog are vile animals that will eat anything foul. Their poop is pathogenic.
Human manure is also pathogenic (and especially so to other humans). Manure from a healthy source is not bad but most Americans are terribly sick and their poop is laced with all kinds of pharma products that are designed to not break down easily.
You cannot get sick from eating your own poop since the pathogens in it are already in you and your immune system is ready for them. But if someone else eats your poop they are in for a real surprise. Yet, when people are desperate they will use it. Add desperation to ignorance and you get dysentery. This will be especially amusing to the sodomites among us as they will finally understand what the purpose of an ass hole actually is.
One day everything that once seemed to be important will no longer be so as priorities change.
Insurance will be a distant memory.
Chihuahua and hot rod ownership will plummet.
For a while, those who can fix junk will become very valuable before the people finally let go of the old world.
Speed limits will be a thing of the past as the REAL new economy takes shape. Cars and trucks will become a sparsely used utilitarian luxury (as they once were).
People will learn to identify real gold and silver with field tests using magnets and acid.
We will learn what it’s like to be truly exploited instead of complaining about low levels of exploitation.
Taxes will be collected at gunpoint if at all.
There are some disinformation agents out there propagating the idea that Sheriffs are some kind of local god as far as protection of citizens and county sovereignty goes. Ha!
If people could only read they would know that the primary duty of a sheriff is to collect county taxes (at gun point if necessary).

On the other hand -Venison will become the new beef. With no forest rangers, fish and wildlife game wardens, or PETA chapters, people will find a constant source of protein in the wild goats whose population will no longer be controlled by speeding cars.
