THE SQUISHY PLASTIC MIND AND THE HANDS THAT MOLD IT
A mind once soiled in youth can never again be washed clean –Twain
We all live in a world biased toward what we want to be true.
Our reality tunnels/bubbles are built out of stories that came true in our opinion.
We are metaphorical beings.
We constantly think and reason in metaphors.
Those who are considered “smart” are simply the best metaphor analyzers.
The greater the storyteller reinforces the message/metaphor of the hearer’s bubble the more definite his subjective reality bubble becomes.
Repetition of a metaphor will create someone’s reality IF is seems to conform to the real world. It confirms his suspicions.
I don’t necessarily mean that a single allegory repeated incessantly is necessary.
If the metaphor is discovered outside of the story it will also solidify the truth of the metaphor.
For instance, you might tell a story to a child about a young prince with a magic key that allows him to open any door in a room but he must then accept whatever is behind that door, be it a treasure or a monster.
After some terrible experiences the prince learns to stand behind the door as he opens it in order to use it as a shield. That is the analogy passed on to the Adult Ego State growing inside him.
Then if you take the child into the forest and teach him to flip over rocks, beneath some he will find a truffle but beneath some he will find a Copperhead. So, you teach him to lift the rocks away from his face in case there is a snake under it that will strike out of fear and surprise. He will make the correlation.
You don’t have to explain it. Given enough time the growing Adult Ego State inside him will understand.
He will also understand the moral: opening doors is a gamble.
This moral itself is a metaphor.
It will be interpreted based on other metaphors he has encountered.
It can be different for everyone.
All of us are gods in training.
Let me paraphrase that because it is VITAL to understanding what I am about to write.
Modern children are, by nature, resistant to command or control.
Their hearts have been alienated from their parents by trickery.
They will not take advice.
They resent direct orders.
If you try to control them they will push back.
“Don’t make me count to three!”
They will often try, instead, to control YOU.
The trick to brainwashing someone without his realizing it is to repeat a metaphor in various ways to make it seem like a universal truth. It MUST be his idea in order to be unconditionally accepted by him. He MUST believe he has thought of it himself. It must be his own stroke of genius.
He is not resistant to his own ideas, only yours.
We do not reject our own ideas even when they are unpleasant.
This is how they get children to agree to “gender reassignment.”
We interpret our world through discovery.
A child does not know what a rattlesnake can do unless someone teaches him or he gains experience. Ignorance is only temporary.
Likewise, the trick to brainwashing a mind in a permanent way is to preempt the discovery process by giving the victim clues to discover.
“Teach a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not stray far from it.”
The qualifier words are the key.
The devil is always in the details –as they say.
This is how they sell the false narrative as real.
They didn’t tell you.
You figured it out -so it must be true.
