Unbelievably, here is a pop song from the 80s written about it. I am not certain that the author understood that he was viewing and describing (hypnosis and broken communication caused by mass schizophrenia) but he sensed it.

We all did to some extent and yet we could not quite put our finger on it. A brief reflection of the image of this Psyop was expressing itself in some songs and literature of the past. It was there for all to see but remained obscured by the onrush of the events of our lives. And yet we could see that whatever it was… it was growing.

Probably one of the most perceptive descriptions of schizophrenia and hypnosis I have heard put to song by an outsider. People like Leonard Cohen have better insight expressed through their lyrics but since he is an insider it should be expected.

The Schizophrenic Child Ego State in us cannot differentiate between reality and fiction. Logic becomes impossible. But in the 60s when this was all a new field of study a hypnotist named Milton H. Erickson discovered a way to use Double Binds as sometimes a pseudo-torture technique to free people from other pernicious Double Binds.

I include his paper here because it is a fascinating read and it is free (still).
He wrote it in regular words that anyone can understand.
I got the impression that he wanted the common man to read it instead of psychologists.
So I am encouraging you to do so.

I find the man extraordinary and doubt he knew the CIA would hijack his research for the nefarious purpose they did.
